The Lake

Garda Lake (the ancient Benacus for the Romans which was so extolled from poet Catullo) is the largest and surely the most characteristic Italian lake: thanks to the unmistakable deep blue water, its mild climate and the diversity of its landscape. Admirably shaped by the latest glaciations, Garda Lake offers its visitors a Mediterranean paradise corner in its southern part, flat and surrounded by the slopes of Riviera degli Olivi, while the landscape changes in the northern part, dominated by the high peaks of Mount Baldo, getting narrower and taking a fiord like form. Thanks to these features and to the mild microclimate, it is possible to have an unlimited number of excursions, such as: cultural, naturalistic, food and wine, sporting or just simply for fun.
